Colwyn Bay, Denbighshire, Wales (Society).

Christian Science Society, Colwyn Bay, held its dedication services in the Woodland-road West Church on Sunday.

More than forty years ago, a small group held informal gatherings in a private house at Rhos-on-Sea. In 1922 the old Liberal Club in Colwyn Bay was rented, which provided a large room for services and a smaller one for the Sunday School and also a Reading Room.

In July, 1923, the organization was recognized as Christian Science Society, Colwyn Bay, a branch of The First Church of Christ, Scientist. in Boston, Massachusetts. Since that date, services have been held each Sunday, and testimony meetings every Wednesday. In 1925, the society sponsored its first lecture on Christian Science.

The present church was acquired in January, 1929. After considerable expenditure on improvements, including central heating, the building provided a most suitable service room and facilities for library, Reading Room, and Sunday School....

In October, 1952, the society was not only completely free from debt, but was also able to undertake further improvements to the furnishing and equipment of the church.
