PERFECT GOD AND PERFECT MAN

Perfection is the order of heaven. Mankind strives for perfection. We do not, however, find perfection in human standards. We find perfection only as we find God. The nature of God is perfection. He is the perfect One. He is the Mind that is pure, perfect, and unerring; the Mind that is Truth, without an element of error; the Mind that is Soul, the sinless intelligence expressed by man.

As we reach out for perfection in all things, we begin to realize that the laws by which we are regulated and controlled are laws of God and are therefore perfect laws. Under their action error yields to Truth and thus restores mental and bodily harmony.

Inaction is unknown to God, for the divine Mind is expressed by perfect and harmonious action. Mary Baker Eddy writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 419): "Mind produces all action. If the action proceeds from Truth, from immortal Mind, there is harmony; but mortal mind is liable to any phase of belief." The functions of man are governed by divine law and cannot be disturbed or interfered with. Regularity of action is not in the hands of mortal mind but is in the keeping of God.
