As a girl I always felt that one need not be sick, but I never knew by what power to cast off ailments. My answer came shortly before the birth of our first baby, when I was led to call on a Christian Science practitioner. I shall never forget the love and joy she expressed while opening my eyes to the wonder of prayerful metaphysical treatment. The birth took place with a Christian Science nurse in attendance and was harmonious and normal.

Great joy swelled within me to think that through Christian Science I had found God. The study of the Bible and of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy began to reveal the beauties of God and man as coexistent and eternal. My husband and I now have three lovely children, all born under Christian Science treatment. For the work of the practitioner who has helped us and for the healings that have come through the application of Christian Science, I express deep gratitude.

Two of the children were healed of illnesses of a severe nature, the older girl of some sort of stomach trouble and the boy of a serious cough and of pains. I handled the latter case myself and witnessed a lovely healing. The boy was healed of an infected knee within three days. When our younger girl suffered from intestinal parasites the strengthening thought of the practitioner broke the mesmerism of my anxiety and cured the child. A painful abscess in her ear also yielded after a few days, during which time she refused to look at or mention the condition.
