Like the woman who "had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse" (Mark 5:26), I too had been attended by many physicians, who undoubtedly tried to do their best for me according to their ability and knowledge.

I was ill practically all the time, was in the hospital frequently, and had been operated upon several times. For five months after the last operation the wounds failed to heal. The suffering was almost beyond endurance, and I was in despair.

Then in my extreme distress I heard of the healing power of Christian Science. I was given the address of a practitioner, and in spite of great suffering I called on him the next morning. In a simple and loving way he explained to me the fundamental teachings of Christian Science. He took up prayerful work for me right away, and as a result after the third treatment I was completely healed.

I had another very beautiful healing. Before I became acquainted with Christian Science I had suffered from severe pain in the heart and from a very annoying shortness of breath, so that it was difficult for me to walk. I was healed of this trouble in a single treatment.

I am extremely grateful that God led me to the wonderful Science discovered and made available to all by Mrs. Eddy. To the practitioner through whose work I received these two healings, I am also grateful.
