Among the many healings in our family have been those of a fractured ankle, the aftereffects of scarlet fever, a nervous breakdown, and warts. Also we have experienced great protection from accidents.

One of our first healings was a convincing proof of the truth of Christian Science. A vicious dog attacked our son, then ten years of age, leaving gashes to the bone. A practitioner was called, and the boy experienced no more pain. His fear was so completely overcome that on the first day he returned to school he came home with a puppy and asked that it be fed.

The temptation to study various "isms" was met early in my experience as a Christian Scientist. A friend was certain she had found an easier way than Science, and she sent me several pamphlets, requesting that I read them. They were put in my desk and forgotten. While I was having a severe ear condition, which was not yielding, the friend came to see me and again brought up the subject of her new interest. When she left I prayed earnestly to be shown the way. These words filled my consciousness (Isa. 30:21): "Thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left." I put the pamphlets in an envelope to take back to my friend, and as I did so the ear began to drain. It was soon fully healed.
