For the many blessings which have come to me since I became acquainted with Christian Science, I am truly grateful. More than twenty years ago a friend loaned me Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and it has been my constant companion ever since.

I had a deep longing for contentment and for the true idea of God, which the inconsistencies of my early religious teachings did not satisfy. I read Science and Health with great joy and knew at once that I had found what I had always wanted. Before I had finished reading it through I was healed of chronic constipation, for which I had tried numerous material aids. This healing has been permanent. In addition there was a falling away of unlovely traits of character, of which perhaps the most outstanding was the inability to forgive injustices. Intolerance and a great sense of fear were discarded.

I am especially grateful for the protection afforded through the study and application of Christian Science, as well as for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, class instruction, and the blessed privilege of serving in a Christian Science Sunday School. Our literature and the Reading Room have also helped me to "taste and see that the Lord is good" (Ps. 34:8).
