RADIO PROGRAM No. 58 - A Rescue and Its Explanation

On this program J. Lingen Wood of Vancouver, British Columbia, told of his own experience, as follows:

In May, 1953, off the north coast of British Columbia, I had conclusive proof that the spiritual resources we build up through systematic prayer to God sustain us in time of need. In the course of my duties I was traveling by flying boat to Prince Rupert. The day was stormy and it was raining. During the last hours of the flight, I spent some time thinking over the spiritual truths of the Lord's Prayer.

Early after becoming a Christian Scientist I learned the value of systematic prayer and regular study of the weekly Lesson-Sermons. While traveling I often spend some time thinking about the Lord's Prayer—to establish the fact of God's ever-presence and inexhaustible love.
