It is with joy I can say that Christian Science...
It is with joy I can say that Christian Science has been my only physician and that I have relied solely upon it to meet my every need. Upon completion of college I failed to pass an eye examination for public school teachers and was placed in the school system on a temporary basis. During this time I endeavored to know more of God, and I called upon a Christian Science practitioner for aid. After persistent, faithful work on the part of the practitioner, a later eye examination was passed successfully. A more desirable teaching position unfolded immediately, and it has proved to be an experience rich in blessings.
While teaching in school one day, I manifested very distressing symptoms of a physical difficulty. When I arrived home I telephoned a Christian Science practitioner for help. I had done prayerful metaphysical work in preparation for a lecture on Christian Science which I had expected to attend that night. The practitioner said she would help me; so I attended the lecture expecting a healing. During the lecture I was conscious of a deep sense of peace, and the body became more harmonious. The next morning I arose completely free. Members of the faculty were amazed to see me at school that clay—and well.
I have been healed of infections and other discordant conditions by relying only upon God. These healings bear witness to Mrs. Eddy's statement (Science and Health, p. 167), "Only through radical reliance on Truth can scientific healing power be realized." Each experience has lifted me higher in spiritual understanding. I am grateful for the practicality of Christian Science, which I am able to use every day in many ways. I am grateful also for membership in The Mother Church and a branch church, as well as for all the activities of our movement.—(Miss) Ruth Tappert, Chicago, Illinois.
