THE CHRISTIAN SCIENCE PASTOR

"Go to your pastor," a little girl faced with the various problems of childhood was always lovingly told by her mother; "go to your pastor for healing and help." The child well understood what this meant. Her mother had been healed some years before through Christian Science treatment after the physicians had said that they could do no more for her, and the child's home had been changed from a place of sadness and pain to one of joy-filled activity and abundant life. The child knew who her pastor was, namely, the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. She knew, too, that Mrs. Eddy had ordained these two books to be the forever pastor of the Church of Christ, Scientist. This pastor was always available, always absolutely right and just in counsel, infinitely comforting, infinitely wise, infinitely loving, practical, and sure; and to it she went with the greatest of confidence and expectancy of good.

In the years that have followed, the child has grown increasingly grateful for her pastor. In the sunshine of health and happiness she has treasured its everlasting message of love and protection; in midnight hours of pain and fear she has depended upon it for healing and redemption. It has never failed.

It cannot fail, for it is the Word of God—God, the omnipotent, the omnipresent, the omniscient, the creator of man and the universe.
