In our home the truths taught in Christian Science, when relied on wholeheartedly, have proved practical in all circumstances. My mother was restored to health after a long illness. On the night following an operation for fibroid tumor she appeared to be passing on. However, through the work of a practitioner she was well the next morning.

Abundance of supply has been continuously manifested, and careers have unfolded harmoniously and successfully, sometimes when circumstances have indicated that such events would not be possible.

In my own experience the desire to indulge in such so-called material pleasures as smoking and social drinking disappeared when I fully perceived that God's idea can be attracted by nothing unlike good. False traits of character were corrected, office work improved, and a satisfying position was gained when it was learned that man's true business is to express the qualities of divine Principle, God, such as honesty, fidelity, and so on. My progress at times seemed slow and was beset by numerous physical difficulties, including colds, boils, swelling of the neck, and abscesses of the ears. However, all these difficulties were healed as I gained a clearer understanding of man's relationship to God, thus improving my mental outlook and freeing my thought from hatred, stubbornness, apathy, and many other false characteristics.
