Signs of the Times
Rev. Clayton R. Maud
in the Courier News
Plainfield, New Jersey
Today our nation needs unity. The greatest unifying force in the hands of intelligent men is the power of truth. Superstitions and ignorance create fears that cause men to misunderstand and distrust one another. Jesus said to those controlled by false ideas, "The truth shall make you free." Finding truth, a man is free to understand, free to love, free to search for even greater truth. Where freedom is denied—be it political or religious—truth is hidden. Our churches invite you to a faith founded in the freedom to discover truth and thereby the power to unite with fellow men for creating a peace-loving world.
