It is indeed a joyous privilege...
It is indeed a joyous privilege to testify to God's nearness and to His ever-present availability, made manifest to us through the practical demonstration of Christian Science. Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health (p. 444), "Step by step will those who trust Him find that 'God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.'"
Recently our older son complained of sharp pains in his side. My wife and I declared the truth of God's perfect man as we are taught to do in Christian Science. The boy fell asleep, but shortly thereafter he awoke in great pain. A practitioner was called, but still the condition did not yield. When the practitioner was called a second time to ascertain whether he thought it would be helpful if the boy came to his office, he stated that the boy could be placed where in reality he had always been and was then, in God's protective care.
