When I decided to study Christian Science I knew that the most important day of my life had arrived. After years of suffering from a badly cankered mouth and receiving no help from doctors, I was very eager to understand God and to prove that all things are possible to Him. My healing was slow, but with the help of a friend, who later became a Christian Science practitioner, I was completely freed from the discordant condition.

When I first started to read the Christian Science periodicals every question that came to me was answered in the articles and testimonies contained in the copies of The Christian Science Journal and Sentinel which had been given to me by a friend. My next step was to study Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. Limitation was over come when I began to act from the standpoint of abundance instead of merely thinking about it.

We have had many healings in our family. One that is outstanding took place when all nine of our children were at home. During the night one of them awakened covered with red spots and suffering from a very sore throat. I requested help from a practitioner, and then in accordance with the law I called the health officer. When he came he examined the child's throat but gave no medical treatment. Later, when he came back to put the quarantine sign on the house, the child was at the top of a tall maple tree in the yard. The spots had disappeared, and he was entirely normal. Further examinations were made a few days later, but nothing harmful was found.
