In Science and Health Mrs. Eddy writes...

In Science and Health Mrs. Eddy writes (p. 410): "Every trial of our faith in God makes us stronger. The more difficult seems the material condition to be overcome by Spirit, the stronger should be our faith and the purer our love." I really believe that there is nothing whatever that God cannot do if we have an understanding faith in Him.

On two different occasions doctors have said that I could not live. In 1930 I had tuberculosis of the lungs, stomach, and bowels. My stomach was so badly affected that I was unable to eat or drink, and I became little more than a living skeleton. I was told of Christian Science, and a practitioner was called. After the first treatment the hemorrhage stopped. With that encouragement I kept on studying Science and started eating again. It took almost two years to regain normal weight and action, but at the end of that time I was in splendid health. I am very grateful to God for that healing.

Following this experience I had many healings, most of them quick ones. A very severe burn, caused by the spilling of a pan of boiling grease, resulted in a loss of skin from the knee to the ankle. I asked for the help of a practitioner, and in ten days the skin had grown back. Four days later I returned to work free from inconvenience. Later even the scar disappeared.
