Although I have had many...

Although I have had many instantaneous healings through Christian Science, when the healing of an alarming heart condition did not readily come I became depressed. One day at a Christian Science lecture it was revealed to me that what I needed was to know God better, and I set out to do this by a more intensive study of our textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy.

Since I continued to carry out my regular duties, I had constantly to turn my thought to God, and He never failed me. Once when it appeared that I should not be able to carry on I called out, "Father, what shall I do?" As if a voice had spoken, the following words came to me (Deut. 33:25): "As thy days, so shall thy strength be." I was strengthened at once and enabled to go on with my work. Although the condition continued for a period of eighteen months, Truth sustained me. I regularly attended a Church of Christ, Scientist, on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings, and it always seemed as if the readings had been prepared especially for me. They met my every need.

I can never express sufficient gratitude to the practitioner who, whenever called upon, day or night, never failed to bring quietness and relief from the distressing condition, thus enabling me to have normal rest. At last the healing was complete. In the words of Paul I gratefully say (II Cor. 9:15), "Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift."—(Mrs.) Rachael Isabella Spyer, Thames Ditton, Surrey, England.
