THE TRUE ACUMEN

There come times in the experience of every Christian Scientist when he is especially aware of God's call to him to look more deeply into the facts of Mind and to discern and make his own the deeper things of Spirit. Mary Baker Eddy writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 264): "Mortals must look beyond fading, finite forms, if they would gain the true sense of things. Where shall the gaze rest but in the unsearchable realm of Mind?"

To mortals the divine Mind is indeed unsearchable, but as we learn through spiritual experiences to resign human will, put away our trust in human knowledge, and allow our gaze to rest "in the unsearchable realm of Mind," God will unfold His purpose. His will, and His divine ability. Thus we enter into the spiritual idea of intelligence, for in reality there is no mind, or intelligence, apart from God.

The practical application of this action on our part confers an ability and perception far in excess of our ordinary human capacities. We are empowered from on high, and the mandate of Mind, the government of divine Principle, takes charge of the situation and impels us to take action in accord with its demands.
