Christian Science healed me of a complete nervous breakdown. When nothing else gave any hope of healing, I turned to Science and stuck to it.

One thing I realized was that my difficulty was the result of material thinking and that the only remedy was spiritual thinking. Spiritual understanding was not easy for me to gain, as I thought of myself as very materially-minded with little capacity for understanding and demonstrating spiritual truths. The only thing that saved me was a tenacious determination to stick to Science in all circumstances.

I began studying the Bible Lessons in the Christian Science Quarterly each day, and as soon as possible I became a regular attendant at a Church of Christ, Scientist. Also I read the periodicals regularly. Living in a metropolitan area, I attended many Christian Science lectures. Although at first I understood very little of what was said, I had a growing conviction that every lecture was helping me and doing me good. Daily visits at one or more Reading Rooms were next added to my activities.
