Conduct of Branch Church Sunday Schools

General rules for the conduct of the Sunday School of The Mother Church and branch churches are found in Article XX of the Manual of The Mother Church by Mary Baker Eddy. Since the Manual (Art. XXIII, Sects. 1 and 10) provides for the democratic self-government of branch churches and societies, each branch makes its own rules governing details of procedure. However, before making a decision on a local question a branch church or society sometimes inquires about the experience of The Mother Church and of other branches. Hence the articles on procedures and practices which appear from time to time in this column.
