I am deeply grateful for a proof that Christian Science heals. Some time ago I started on a trip across the country to attend my yearly association meeting. When I reached my first stop I became very ill with poisoning of some sort that settled in one of my limbs, causing a deep ulcer. The great desire to attend my precious meeting, and the thought that with God's help I could do so, buoyed me up and strengthened my courage. There were two more stops to make during the trip, and I was very conscious of the Christ, Truth, that enabled me to continue.

With great joy I attended the association meeting. The darkest hours came after that. The appearance of the limb filled me with dismay, but singing the Christian Science hymns always uplifted my thought. One night I wrestled with great pain for hours. Then in the early morning I had a feeling of exaltation, for I could see that I did not really live in a material body. For days afterward the light of Love filled my thought.

At first I did not realize that the healing had begun, but then I noticed that it was progressing steadily. By the time I returned home, ten days later, the ulcer was entirely healed. Ten days after that I returned to active duty as a Christian Science nurse. I am grateful for the faithful work of the practitioner who helped me during the experience. This healing brought me a clearer understanding of Life.
