"Out of the depths have I cried unto thee, O Lord" (Ps. 130:1). The warmth and love that have come into my life with the dawning of the truth have made all my problems steppingstones to higher exaltation. I had a great desire to know more of God when a very dear friend presented me with "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy. After reading this textbook about four months. I experienced an instantaneous healing of sick headaches, a condition that had existed since I was a child, depriving me of many childhood activities.

One evening before retiring, I read several articles in a Sentinel. The inspiration, joy, and peace that flooded my consciousness were so great that upon arising the following morning I had this same exalted feeling. Thereafter I felt a great sense of patience and compassion, rather than indifference, for my fellow men. At this time I also overcame a dislike of animals.

Through the help of a Christian Science practitioner I was healed of a goiter. As I listened to her declarations of the truth regarding God and man as God's image and likeness, my thought was so filled with the unmeasured activities of beauty and love that several days passed before I thought of the goiter again. When I did, I found it had disappeared without my knowing it. Mrs. Eddy states in Science and Health (p. 276), "Having one God, one Mind, unfolds the power that heals the sick, and fulfils these sayings of Scripture, 'I am the Lord that healeth thee,' and 'I have found a ransom.'"
