"Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men! For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness" (Ps. 107:8,9). For the past ten years Christian Science has been my way of life, bringing immeasurable blessings to me, and I praise God for His goodness.

At a time when circumstances seemed overwhelming because of a problem in human relationship and my thought was dark with a sense of loss and discouragement, I was led to visit a Christian Science Reading Room and to purchase a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. For several days I did little but read and ponder the contents of this priceless textbook. I shall always remember the wonderful light that came at the close of a day of study, when the spiritual fact dawned that good is continuous and independent of material circumstances, because God is ever present. As this truth flooded my consciousness I saw the illusory nature of the circumstances that had troubled me.

This awakening lifted me out of despondenty and illness, and I was soon occupied in useful activity, accompanied by the heavenly assurance of our Father's guidance in my affairs. I was able to appreciate Mrs. Eddy's enlightening statement (Science and Health, p. 322): "The sharp experiences of belief in the supposititious life of matter, as well as our disappointments and ceaseless woes, turn us like tired children to the arms of divine Love. Then we begin to learn Life in divine Science."
