Many years have passed since our family first turned to Christian Science. At that time our little son was very ill with influenza. Day after day passed, and he showed no improvement. One night, as I stood beside his crib trying to pray, the realization came to me that I had no faith either in God or in medical treatment and that I must seek an understanding of God if I would have faith in Him. As soon as I resolved to learn more about God, I gained a sense of peace and a measure of confidence.

On page I of our textbook, Science and Health, Mrs. Eddy says, "Desire is prayer." This statement proved true in my case. My yearning for a solution to the difficulty was met when I turned to Christian Science. Within a week the child was well, and my husband and I had begun to attend a Church of Christ, Scientist, in order to learn more about God and man's relationship to Him and to express our gratitude for the good already received.

During my first reading of the textbook I was healed of headaches, which had lasted for weeks at a time. A short time afterward my husband was completely and permanently healed of malaria, which had troubled him recurrently from childhood and of which he had an inordinate fear. The healing came with one treatment by a Christian Science practitioner. Our family has experienced many other healings, including those of mastoiditis, concussion, colitis, a broken ankle, and sprained ankles. In addition, business difficulties have been overcome.
