"GOVERNING GOVERNMENTS"

That the Revelation of St. John includes right government is evident when we read (Rev. 4:2), "And, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne." The oneness of Deity is the basic truth of creation, and the Bible ascribes all power and majesty to God, good.

The significance of the throne is that it prohibits the belief of any other ruling power that can oppose, resist, or reverse the righteous government of the one Mind. Within divine Mind are found wisdom, justice, intelligence, reflected in the real creation, man and the universe. Hence man is in full accord with this divine government, this one controlling power, the intelligence of divine Mind.

Furthermore, this revelation of one "on the throne" places all responsibility for government with God, the divine Mind. Our responsibility is to demonstrate divine power and wisdom in all the minutiae of our human affairs, civic, moral, spiritual. Thus each individual may prove, in the degree of his obedience to the government of divine law in his own affairs, that he can contribute to the solving of the larger problems of a disrupted world.
