It is with a heart overflowing...

It is with a heart overflowing with gratitude to God for Christ jesus, the Way-shower, and for our beloved Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, that I send this testimony. It is now seventeen years since a friend spoke to my mother about Christian Science. My mother went to the Sunday services and Wednesday testimony meetings in a Church of Christ, Scientist, several weeks before I would accompany her. One Sunday evening I thought I should like to go with her, and during the service I felt so uplifted that I knew Christian Science was what I had been looking for.

The doctor had put me on a strict diet and had given me tablets to take for heart trouble. After my first attendance at a Wednesday testimony meeting I knew that I should not need to diet or take tablets any more. I resumed my normal work and have never suffered from heart trouble since.

Through the years there have been numerous proofs of Love's protection, supply, and healing power, and I am extremely grateful for a healing of nervous breakdown. With the help of a Christian Science practitioner I rapidly began to improve. The complete healing was slow, and at times the way seemed very dark; but with the loving help and encouragement of the practitioner the difficulty was entirely overcome. During a Sunday evening service, while we were singing the words, "Science, thou dost fulfill all prophecy" (Christian Science Hymnal, No. 297), I suddenly felt so uplifted that I knew the healing was complete. My mother and I both thanked God with all our hearts for His goodness. My joy in again taking up church work was great.
