Ever Enlarging

[Extract from a report prepared for the Reading Room Division by the executive board of a branch church; also one prepared by a Reading Room attendant.]

Marysville, California

For several years our Reading Room was in our church edifice. The need for a downtown Reading Room became evident to us, yet the vision of its potentialities was not clear enough to our membership as a whole to make the move possible. We were aware of the fact that without a display window in which to bring the Bible and our Leader's writings to the attention of our community we could hardly attract the attention of the public. Our work was based on Isaiah's counsel (54: 2), "Enlarge the place of thy tent."

The first step of progress was taken nearly two years ago when we obtained a display window in the lobby of our best hotel. This attracted many people, some of whom then attended our church services.
