The testimonies in our periodicals lead me to express deepest love and gratitude to their sincere and generous contributors. Sometimes when mortal mind has beclouded clear thinking about God and about man in His image, I have turned to the testimonies, and healing and peace have followed.

Recently I was led to study in the Glossary of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy the Bible term "tithe." The first part of the definition (p. 595), "Contribution," filled my thought; so I looked up the word in a dictionary and found its meaning to be, in part, "A writing for publication, especially in a periodical." It was clear to me that the still small voice was telling me what to do, and I prayerfully studied Mrs. Eddy's words in the Manual of The Mother Church (Art. VIII, Sect. 24), "Testimony in regard to the healing of the sick is highly important." Then I resolved to write a grateful testimony for publication, expressing obedience, love, and praise to God for healing, blessings, and spiritual awakening to His promises.

When I was a very new student of Christian Science, malaria was healed with the help of a practitioner who was some four hundred miles away. Ulcers of the mouth were healed in a few days through Christian Science help alone, although others were offering me medical aid to alleviate the pain so that I could eat. Their offers did not tempt me, however, for I knew that, as Mrs. Eddy tells us (Science and Health, p. 167), "Only through radical reliance on Truth can scientific healing power be realized." I am grateful to the practitioner who helped me at this time. Another healing was that of influenza.
