Over ten years have elapsed since...

Over ten years have elapsed since I expressed my gratitude through The Christian Science Journal, and I feel that I should again convey through the periodicals my thanks to God for His divine protection and care. Mrs. Eddy says in the Manual of The Mother Church (Art. VIII, Sect. 24): "Testimony in regard to the healing of the sick is highly important. More than a mere rehearsal of blessings, it scales the pinnacle of praise and illustrates the demonstration of Christ, 'who healeth all thy diseases' (Psalm 103:3)."

A few years ago I sprained my ankle badly. This took place on a Friday, and by Saturday morning the sprain had yielded to the truth so that all trace of it had left except for a slight swelling and discoloration. On Sunday I was at my post as First Reader in a Christian Science Society. Soon after this I was healed of the need to wear glasses, which I had worn for reading since I was a child. For these healings I shall always be grateful.

Some time ago I was involved in a car accident. The highway patrolman ordered me to be taken to the nearest hospital, but I refused to go there and requested that I be taken to my daughter's home instead. As she lived in another town, I called her and asked her to request help of a practitioner for me. Prayerful work was taken up, and it resulted in the complete healing of my injuries, which included a broken collarbone, several broken ribs, a dislocated shoulder and elbow, a fractured arm, and a sprained wrist, as well as hip, knee, and ankle difficulties. This healing came through Truth alone. Six days of rest and study during this time at the Sanatorium of the Christian Science Benevolent Association on Pacific Coast are acknowledged with joy.
