COMPLETE RELIANCE ON GOD BRINGS HEALING

In the light thrown upon the Scriptures by Christian Science the eternal fact is revealed that man, God's image or reflection, is harmonious and eternal. Man's entity and substance are purely spiritual. His harmony, his joy, and his eternal perfection are derived from and maintained by Spirit, God. Man is perfectly developed; he is unalterably normal in every component of his spiritual being as idea.

Spiritual man abides in the realm of Spirit, where God, divine Love, is the one and only lawmaker. Love is ever just, merciful, and beneficent in its ministrations. Love, God, the source of all bliss, is eternally operative and sustains the entire universe, including man, in perfect harmony throughout eternity. There is nothing spasmodic or intermittent about Love; Love is constant, changeless.

That Isaiah had a clear comprehension of the universal nature of Love is evidenced in the twenty-second verse of the fortieth chapter of the book which bears his name. He writes, "It is he ... that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in." The usual concept of heaven includes perfect harmony, health, and abundance. Isaiah has given us the thought that just as a material curtain affords shelter and shade, as a material tent affords comfort and protection, as the material heavens embrace the earth, so the heavenly laws of divine Love, imparting freedom and inexhaustible good, are all-encompassing and all-sustaining, constantly and eternally.
