LOYALTIES

Loyalty is an impartation of divine Love. It expresses adherence to the divine Principle, which is God. Our primary need is to be loyal to God, good, and to all that manifests the divine nature. Loyalty to God means obedience to Him. We cannot be loyal to divine Principle and at the same time be disobedient to its demands.

The two great commandments referred to by the Master, as recorded, in Matthew (22:37–40), epitomize the complete Decalogue. He said: "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets."

Obedience to these two commandments forms the basis of our spiritual life. Loyalty to God is expressed in our loyalty to our brother man. In other words, God's love for us and our love for God are seen in our reflection of love for one another.
