An incident that occurred a few years ago demonstrated the power of Christian Science to heal quickly and permanently. I shall always be grateful for the good work of a practitioner, as well as for the confidence I gained in Christian Science treatment.

Just a month before I was due to receive class instruction in Christian Science, a piece of steel coated with a strong caustic lodged in my eye. I was taken to the doctor of the chemical plant in which I was employed. He appeared very fearful of my losing the sight of the eye and gave me a medical prescription to have filled.

Instead of having the prescription filled, however, I called a practitioner, who began work immediately. Through this work my eye was completely healed. Within two days the pain, which had been severe, entirely disappeared, and I was able to be in my place for class instruction. This experience has been an inspiration to me and has given me strength when working out other problems.
