My testimony is long overdue...

My testimony is long overdue, but I give it now in the hope that it will benefit others. I gratefully acknowledge God's loving care, made evident in my experience through the application of Christian Science.

An uncle was the first of my relatives to take up the study of Christian Science, and he introduced it to my mother, who became an earnest student thereafter. Some years later, when I was stricken with what was considered a dread disease, the aid of a practitioner in a neighboring city was enlisted. During the trying weeks that followed, an aunt who had formerly been a medical nurse, but who had just begun to study Science, and a more experienced Christian Science friend of the family came frequently to our home and gave us their loving assistance.

One evening they discovered that I had, to all appearances, passed on. My aunt stood at the head of my bed, hardly knowing which way to turn; but the friend went immediately to the telephone and called the practitioner who was helping us. Coming back from the telephone the friend instructed my aunt to go into an adjoining room and read aloud the definition of man, as found on page 591 of our textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. However, even before leaving the room my aunt witnessed with joy restoration of life. All organs of the body resumed their normal functions, and I was instantaneously healed. May I not rightfully query as did the Apostle Paul (Acts 26:8), "Why should it be thought a thing incredible with you, that God should raise the dead?"
