I am deeply grateful to God for revealing Christian Science to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, and for her untiring devotion to her discovery. Through her unselfish labor in giving to the world this wonderful truth all may understand and prove its teachings in their daily lives.

Over a period of years I have experienced many healings. My first healing was that of acute indigestion, with which I had been troubled for several years. After I took up the study of Christian Science an attack occurred that seemed more severe than any before it, and the suggestion came to take the material remedy that I had formerly used. Then I thought of the words from the Bible (Matt. 6:24), "Ye cannot serve God and mammon." Immediately I decided to rely absolutely on Christian Science and asked my husband to read to me from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. In less than half an hour I was completely healed. This experience occurred many years ago, and the condition has never returned.

I was also healed of a severely sprained ankle. The morning after the injury, the inflammation and swelling had disappeared, and I was able to put on my shoe and walk with no discomfort whatever. These statements from Science and Health (p. 393) helped me during the experience: "Be firm in your understanding that the divine Mind governs, and that in Science man reflects God's government. Have no fear that matter can ache, swell, and be inflamed as the result of a law of any kind, when it is self-evident that matter can have no pain nor inflammation. Your body would suffer no more from tension or wounds than the trunk of a tree which you gash or the electric wire which you stretch, were it not for mortal mind."
