My expression of gratitude for our revered Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, and for her textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," is long overdue. I have seen and experienced many healings through Christian Science, having reared my four children for more than ten years with no other remedy than this all-powerful truth. I saw my mother raised from a deathbed to a life of health and usefulness through Christian Science.

One experience that stands out to me as an inspiration was the healing of a condition resulting from an automobile accident; it was thought that my back was broken. All night the practitioner worked for me, and all night I lay, not daring to move, but declaring my spiritual, perfect selfhood.

In the morning a Sentinel was put into my hand, and one of the articles in it so roused me from my mesmerism that I found myself sitting on the edge of the bed, the pain seeming unimportant. In a few minutes I walked out into the kitchen. My daughter was so startled that she ran for her husband, who thought she came to say I had passed on. In three or four days I made the trip of over a hundred miles to my home, completely healed. Our Leader states on page 228 of Science and Health: "There is no power apart from God. Omnipotence has all-power, and to acknowledge any other power is to dishonor God."
