JIMMY'S DEMONSTRATION

[Of Special Interest to Children]

Jimmy had attended the Christian Science Sunday School for about a year, and he loved it very dearly. He had become familiar with the seven synonyms for God, which Mary Baker Eddy gives in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" as Mind, Principle, Spirit, Soul, Life, Truth, Love, and he had learned that man is perfect, the image and likeness of the one perfect Father-Mother. God. His Sunday School teacher had made it clear to the class that each one should especially know God as divine Love and realize Love's constant presence and protection. She had further explained that God gives only good gifts to His children and supplies all their needs, and that we must rely fully upon Him.

Jimmy was thoroughly convinced that God, divine Love, would help him at any time. He had become familiar, along with the other children in his class, with the Bible characters who showed forth in their lives the qualities of obedience, fearlessness, and devotion. The children had also had read to them many times certain passages in Science and Health.

On several occasions when he felt sick Jimmy had proved that a full reliance on God and Christian Science restores one to good health. When he and the other children had once been called upon to tell of some healing, Jimmy could relate his own healing or tell about his little dog's recovery under Christian Science treatment. He was well aware of the tender, all-time presence of his loving Parent, God. One Bible quotation which he knew was (Rom. 8:28), "All things work together for good to them that love God."
