GOD IS LOVE
[Of Special Interest to Children]
Louise was a very little girl, too little to go to day school and learn to read and write, but not too little to learn many wonderful truths in Christian Science. Her mother was a student of this Science and a member of a branch Church of Christ, Scientist. Every day she read the Lesson-Sermon provided in the Christian Science Quarterly, using the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and often she read things she especially liked to Louise and her two brothers.
"God is love" (I John 4:8) was one of the truths Louise loved most. It was such a comfort to know that wherever you are and whatever seems to happen to you, Love is always present, and Love can make everything come out right.
Once Louise slipped on a sandy walk and fell on her face. The little stones dug into her face and seemed to make it hurt. But while her mother washed them off she reminded Louise that Love was right there and would never let anything but good happen to God's child. The hurt stopped right away, and Louise ran out to play again.
