LET YOUR WORDS OF PRAISE BE HEARD

IN the Manual of The Mother Church, Mary Baker Eddy gives under the heading "Testimonials" a By-Law which reads in part as follows (Art. VIII, Sect. 24): "Testimony in regard to the healing of the sick is highly important. More than a mere rehearsal of blessings, it scales the pinnacle of praise and illustrates the demonstration of Christ, 'who healeth all thy diseases' (Psalm 103:3)." Again, on page 57 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," Mrs. Eddy writes: "Happiness is spiritual, born of Truth and Love. It is unselfish; therefore it cannot exist alone, but requires all mankind to share it."

What a glorious privilege it is for those who have felt the redemptive power of Christian Science, who have been lifted by its teachings from an abyss of human limitation, suffering, and fear, to express their ineffable rejoicing and gratitude to God and to our revered Leader. For it is through God's revelation to her that this wonderful light of Truth is shining so clearly today.

Every activity of the Cause of Christian Science furnishes wonderful opportunities for its grateful followers to work so prayerfully that the channels for Truth may be unobstructed. There are no unimportant or trivial activities in the blessed work of disseminating the teachings of our inspired Leader. The giving of testimonies at the regular Wednesday meetings may be included in the foregoing statement. Often we hear the Reader in charge of these meetings say, "Will those who testify kindly speak so that all may hear." In spite of this request, at the conclusion of the meeting we sometimes learn that some of the speakers were not heard.
