FINDING OUR RIGHT PLACE

Many today are asking, "How shall we find our right place?" To those who appear to be unplaced or without employment, to those who seem misplaced in their employment, and to those "displaced persons" without a country Christian Science brings the great truths that the universe, including man, is the expression, or manifestation, of the one infinite Mind, God, and that this universe consists of spiritual ideas, forever maintained in perfect harmony.

A dictionary defines "harmony" as "the just adaptation of parts to each other in any system or combination of things, or in things intended to form a connected whole." The universe of God's creating is one harmonious whole; there can, therefore, be no misfits, no maladjustments, no shortages, no superfluous or unwanted individuals; no lack of divine direction or coordination, no accident, no miscarriage of justice; no lack of congenial and profitable employment; no lack of fulfillment of God's holy purpose and design for man, His image and likeness.

Everything in God's universe is in its right place, doing its right work. There is opportunity for every talent and gift to be fully expressed. To understand these truths is to find ourselves where we may best express God; to find our true home in spiritual consciousness, in "the secret place of the most High" (Ps. 91:1). This thought is beautifully expressed in these words from a testimony appearing on page 442 of "Miscellaneous Writings": "God is the great house that holds all His children; we dwell in Him as the fishes dwell in the seas."
