Christian Science has given me back the Bible, and for this and many other blessings which it has brought into my life I am increasingly grateful.

Over twenty years ago I first heard of Christian Science. I had lost faith in the church in which I had been brought up, and I longed to know what to believe, I felt that the Bible must be true, and yet orthodox Christianity seemed to me to be very far removed from the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth. In the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, we read (p. 1), "Desire is prayer"; and I now know that my earnest desire for the truth was a prayer that was indeed answered when Christian Science was introduced to me. I found in the study of our textbook the answer to all my doubts and questions.

Although I did not come into Science for healing, I soon found that it does heal, and since then I have never taken any medicine. I am grateful for healings of acute indigestion, of coughs, colds, and influenza, of a hand that was crushed when drawn into the wringer of an electric washing machine, and of a very painful condition in a foot which had been diagnosed as a fallen arch. Some of these demonstrations of the power of God were made through my own understanding of Mrs. Eddy's writings, but more often with the loving help of practitioners, to whom I am deeply grateful. I am learning that, no matter what problem may arise, in Christian Science we have the perfect remedy.
