A Loving and Courageous Stand Heals and Protects

A statement of policy issued by The Christian Science Board of Directors has been of great value in our efforts throughout the year to maintain and extend our legal rights. It has clarified and strengthened our position by making plain to those who unknowingly or purposely attempt to restrict our freedom to practice Christian Science that medical indoctrination, examination, and treatment violate our deepest religious convictions. This statement, which has helped us so very much in working with non-Scientists in public authority— boards of education, school administrators, state legislators, city councilmen, health officers, boards of health, etc.,—reads as follows:

"The Christian Science religion requires its adherents to reach progressively and rapidly that state of spiritual understanding which forbids their use of material means for healing.
