"AS I HAVE LOVED YOU"

Jesus said, "A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another" (John 13:34). He also said, "I and my Father are one" (John 10:30). God's love is so pure that He beholds no evil. He sees His own creation, and nothing else, because in reality there is nothing else. Sin, sickness, and death are part and parcel of that delusive "nothing else." Loving as Jesus loved penetrates and disperses the mist which tempts mortals to believe that man is sick, sinful, and dying, and it enables them to behold, as Jesus beheld, the already perfect man of Love's creating, the image and likeness of God.

The Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, states (p. 259). "The Christlike understanding of scientific being and divine healing includes a perfect Principle and idea, perfect God and perfect man,—as the basis of thought and demonstration." This statement is in harmony with the first chapter of Genesis, in which it is recorded that God is satisfied with His creation. God could be satisfied with nothing less than perfection. Therefore all that was made, that is, all that really exists, is perfect now, whatever seems to be said, seen, or believed to the contrary.

Anyone who makes perfect God and perfect man the basis of his thought will begin to demonstrate it. He will begin to see and love the perfect man, instead of being deceived and disturbed by the discordant counterfeit, called a mortal. This correct seeing and knowing results in healing.
