I wish to express my gratitude for Christian Science and its healing power.

After suffering internally for over eighteen years from the aftereffects of confinement, I suddenly became worse. My husband called a doctor, who recommended that I see a specialist for further advice. My mother was interested in Christian Science and wanted me to have the help of a practitioner. Although my husband did not know anything about Science, he agreed to let the practitioner call to see me the following morning. She arrived about an hour before the specialist was due and spoke lovingly to me of God and of man's perfection. She asked me to read "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, which I promised to do.

The specialist, who arrived as arranged, said I had an internal growth and advised an immediate operation. My husband was told that unless the operation were performed I would be a chronic invalid for life, and he consented to my having the operation. After the specialist had left I began reading Science and Health. I read it eagerly, and being a Bible student, found it to be truly the key to the Scriptures. I tried to understand that in reality I was a perfect child of God and held firmly to this thought, along with the words of the twenty-third Psalm.
