Signs of the Times
Rev. Lionel C. R. McWilliam, M.A.
in the Ellerslie District News
Auckland, New Zealand
Springtime is the season of renewal. A miracle comes to view as we see the flowers push their way upwards through the ground, and we are reassured that the processes of life go on unceasing, renewed year by year by the goodness of the great Creator who is the source of life itself. ... The promise of God to you and to me is that, no matter how hard the way, this process of renewal will go on until one day we shall emerge, joyful at the victory of the spirit over the crudest things that the world can do to us.
We do not understand all that goes on underground during the winter months. No more will we learn the secret of life until we convince ourselves that the things which are seen are temporal and the things which are not seen are eternal and allow Christ to break through to us.
