"To those leaning on the sustaining infinite, to-day is big with blessings" (Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, Pref., p. vii). The first time I read these lines I was greatly moved, for they resulted in a great awakening for me. Never before had so short a statement struck me with such force.

I did not take up Christian Science for a physical healing, but because I was hungering to know more of God. I had lost all interest in an orthodox faith and was seeking a better way of life.

After I began the study of Christian Science I saw that medical remedies are not in harmony with it and strove very earnestly to lay aside the tablets I had been taking for a disturbing thyroid gland condition. It was not easy for me to take my stand, but being convinced that it is God alone who heals, I threw out the medicine. Later I went to the Christian Science Benevolent Association Sanatorium on the Pacific Coast. There, after several weeks under the care of a faithful practitioner and in the atmosphere of that wonderful group of Christian workers, I was healed.
