For many years I have depended solely on Christian Science for help in every need. It has not always been easy, but through all my varied experiences I have gained an understanding of Truth that can never be taken from me. There have been many healings in the past forty years, for which I am especially grateful.

During a so-called epidemic of influenza my sister's three children were taken ill; one of them was delirious. My sister was also ill and barely able to be on her feet. Each day I left my two children to go to my sister's home to help her. One day she sent me to a relative's home to telephone to a practitioner in a neighboring town to ask for help in Christian Science. She listened to my story and then said, "Go home and tell your sister that there is no epidemic."

I walked slowly back to the house, and with each step I kept saying, "How could she say such a thing!" Either I had not made myself clear, I thought, or she had not understood how serious the situation was in our town. Just before I reached my sister's home the answer came: Have you not been reading that God is infinite? Then good must be infinite. So, if there were an epidemic, it would be an epidemic of good. God's child cannot be exposed to anything but good and thus cannot experience anything but good. The situation began to clear up, and soon both the children and my sister were completely healed. In the years since then, this lesson has been a very helpful one to me.

More recently, without my knowledge, my daughter talked to a doctor about an unsightly growth on my cheek. He said that it was cancerous and should be removed. Through Christian Science treatment it completely disappeared, and the healing has remained permanent. Self-pity was also overcome at this time.

Need I say how much I value Christian Science? I am especially grateful to our beloved Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for her great courage in bringing Christian Science to the world. I am grateful for having had class instruction and for the loving practitioners, who are so ready and willing to help when the going seems rough.—(Mrs.) Alice Marsh Alway, Detroit, Michigan.

For a period of about thirty years there appeared on my hands at intervals an unsightly and painful condition of eczema. They would swell to twice their normal size, and I could not use them. I went to many of the best physicians throughout the country, who diagnosed the trouble as an allergy, but were not able to help me.

Although my mother and sister were interested in Christian Science, I had not considered it for myself until one day, in discouragement and pain, I went with my mother to the office of a practitioner for help. She made it plain that I should begin reading Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy and study earnestly the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly. She assured me that Christian Science heals and that infection and allergy are wholly mental, brought about through the belief in a power apart from God. Her refusal to be disturbed or to give any reality or power to the condition gave me the confidence to leave the matter in God's hands, and I turned entirely away from any material aid. I had but three treatments in Christian Science and was healed. This healing occurred several years ago, and my hands are as clear as they were before this experience.

Another healing which I had in Christian Science with the help of a practitioner was that of a painful and distressing skin condition which covered my entire body. It was healed very quickly and has not returned.

I am so grateful for the spiritual growth and the understanding of God that I have gained in Science through these experiences. My desire is to understand more of the truth so that I may better serve the Cause.—Charles Harry Underhill, Inglewood, California.
