"If you really want to hear the word of God, nothing can keep you from it." This challenge was given me at a time of great need, and my acceptance of it resulted in a healing of deafness. I had become suddenly aware I could not hear what people were saying to me or what was going on around me. After two days' work in Christian Science this condition lifted for about twenty-four hours, but returned when I let fear into my consciousness. However, this lifting of the trouble, although of short duration, showed me clearly the mental nature of the difficulty and gave me courage to persevere in Truth. With the help of a consecrated practitioner and my persistent clinging to the statement which opens this testimony, the allness of God's love flooded my consciousness, and I found myself hearing normally all the little details and beauties of sound. This healing occurred during the address at my association meeting four years ago and has been permanent. It was one of many proofs I have experienced of God's nearness and care.

Another proof was the healing of rheumatism over seven years ago. I had allowed my thought to become fearful of this disease when a relative was suffering from it. One day I began to be in great pain, unable to stand erect. In this need an angel message of comfort supported me, and it has continued to unfold in meaning ever since that time. The practitioner who was helping me told me that man, God's spiritual idea, has nothing to fear. The condition lessened and departed completely within a week.

For God's constant blessings and for the activity of the whole Christian Science movement, I am unspeakably grateful. The testimonies and articles in our periodicals are an ever-ready source of help and strength to me. My prayer is expressed in the words of the first hymn in the Christian Science Hymnal:
