AN UNLIMITED INCOME

Who would not rejoice in the possession of an income which could be drawn upon for all rightful human needs and which would never diminish with use? Men's ideas of what constitutes abundance may vary, but all can agree upon its desirability.

The absolute knowledge of God and man reveals an income as unlimited as one's receptivity to spiritual ideas, and this knowledge is applicable in present human experience. Man is in truth the image and likeness of God, possessing through reflection constant joy and well-being. Man is not a struggling mortal, making efforts, frequently futile, to obtain things outside himself; but he is the compound idea of Mind, including now and forever the substance of all good. This is the man described in the first chapter of Genesis, and Christian Science teaches that in the proportion that men adhere to this true concept of man, they are able to discard by degrees the limitations of the unreal material creation described in the second chapter of Genesis.

The mist which went up from the earth is the distorting material sense which represents existence as dependent upon the preservation of a physical body and supply as limited to the amount of material things that men possess. Turning to Mind, one finds that Spirit is changeless and indestructible and that ideas are substance and supply. Matter is always limited, whether it seems to be scarce or abundant; but spiritual ideas are infinite and ever available. It is impossible to conceive of a time, place, or situation in which one could not grasp and utilize a spiritually scientific truth and apply it to his present need.
