THE FRUITS OF LOVE

[Of Special Interest to Children]

John had been attending the Christian Science Sunday School now for three years. He began to attend as soon as he could sit quietly and listen to the truth that his teacher told the class about God's love for His children. He did not ever have to be asked to get ready for Sunday School, for he was always happy when Sunday came and could hardly wait to see his friends and his teacher. His teacher always had good news to tell the class concerning God's blessings for all.

The teacher had told the pupils from the very beginning that if they were obedient and loving and did good, the love which they expressed would surely return to them many times over as fruitage, or the result of reflecting God. John thought it was fun to be obedient and to help others whenever he could, for it made him feel very happy. When he left home each morning he really hoped that there would be a chance to give some cheery greeting to someone along the way and do a kind deed. Everyone, including the boys and girls at the public school, loved John because he always had a smile for everyone and never got angry or snubbed anyone.

He had been healed several times when he had been hurt, such as the time when he ran into a tree when he wasn't looking. Because he knew that only good is real, he expected to be healed quickly, and Love never failed him. The sunshine of Love always chased away the darkness of error.
