INDIVIDUALITY, NOT PERSONALITY, IS OURS

"In obedience to the divine nature, man's individuality reflects the divine law and order of being," says Mary Baker Eddy in her "Miscellaneous Writings" (p. 104). It is inspiring to realize that man has a divine nature, a spiritual individuality, which can be understood by us in our present stage of existence.

Opposed to this divine individuality there is, or seems to be, a finite material personality which is the outcome of material sense or sensuous conception. This personality has no permanence and must finally disappear, that is, give place to man's divine individuality, which is forever in the Father's keeping and held safe in the immutability of Mind.

Man's individuality is always about the Father's business. It is not under a lunar, stellar, or solar influence. It is not subject to astrologic or mythologic beliefs and gods of ancient material civilizations. Time claims to stamp personality with frailty and decrepitude. This is not so with man's individuality, which, being forever in the Father's presence, sees God face to face and thus reflects the attributes of God, such as grace, goodness, purity, and comeliness.
