I have been healed, comforted, protected, and blessed many times during the years in which I have been a student of Christian Science. One healing for which I am very grateful is that of a painful condition of my back. For several days it was impossible for me to stand or to walk without assistance; but through the loving help of a practitioner and my own diligent study this difficulty disappeared completely, proving the power of spiritual understanding over material conditions. These words on page 283 of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy helped me very much: "Mind is the source of all movement, and there is no inertia to retard or check its perpetual and harmonious action."

Another proof of God's power took place more recently when my daughter experienced painless childbirth. This was the result of consecrated work done by a practitioner and our own obedience to the following instruction (ibid., p. 463): "To attend properly the birth of the new child, or divine idea, you should so detach mortal thought from its material conceptions, that the birth will be natural and safe. Though gathering new energy, this idea cannot injure its useful surroundings in the travail of spiritual birth. A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive."

We have had so many beautiful healings in our family that it would take much too long to tell of them here. I thank God each day for Christian Science because it is a practical religion and can be used in our daily experiences. I am deeply grateful for having had class instruction and for the protection and healings I have experienced, as well as witnessed in our family.—(Mrs.) Marian G. Lady, Glendale, California.
