When one begins to count his blessings and to give thanks to God for the good things and the good friends he has, something begins to happen in his mind. . . . Try to form the habit of daily thanksgiving; it will work wonders in your thinking; it will work still greater miracles in your prayers; and it will have a beneficial effect on your physical and mental health.

There is a particularly timely example tucked away in the story of Job. . . . The book of Job unfolds the lament of a man in physical, mental, and spiritual depression. Then in chapter 42 (v. 10) we read, "And the Lord turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the Lord gave Job twice as much as he had before."
